The Clifton Fire Protection District's response area spans from 30 road to 35 road and Interstate 70 to the Colorado River. Clifton operates out of one station using a cross-staffing model. The annual call volume for 2023 was 4,300+ 911 calls. Clifton Fire Protection District (CFPD) also provides mutual and automatic aid to neighboring agencies within the county.

CFPD is currently searching for an Operations Chief. The Operations Chief plays a pivotal role in overseeing the departments Operations and Training Division, working closely with the Fire Chief to assist in strategic planning, policy development, and conflict resolutions efforts. In this high-level position, other key responsibilities include managing fire suppression, emergency medical response, hazmat mitigation, and public education programs. The Operations Chief also assists with budget development, coordinating with internal and external agencies, and providing complex administrative support. This position typically follows a 40-hour workweek, but would require flexibility for on-call duties and incident response.
