Clifton Fire Protection District Sales Tax
To all merchants, vendors, and other sales tax collectors, a new sales tax is to be implemented for the Clifton Fire Protection District EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026.
On November 4, 2025, voters of the Clifton Fire Protection District approved a one percent (1.0%) sales tax increase within the district boundaries to be implemented on January 1, 2026.
The following resources and documentation offer information on all election and sales tax increase matters.
With the approval of the 1% Clifton Fire Protection District sales tax, the existing sales tax for the areas in the fire district will increase by 1%. For example, if the current sales tax rate is 5.27%, it will increase to 6.27%.
These taxes shall be remitted to the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) on the DR0100 using the same method they currently use to remit their sales tax (i.e., paper form, ROL, SUTS).
