Clifton Fire stops RV fire from spreading; two dogs rescued, no injuries
Clifton, Colo. — At approximately 11:05 a.m., the Clifton Fire Protection District was dispatched to the 400 block of Carson Lake Dr. for a recreational vehicle on fire in close proximity to two homes. Engine 21, Engine 22, Ambulance 21, Chief 21, and Chief 22 responded. At Clifton’s request, the Grand Junction Fire Department also responded to assist with structure search and exposure protection, and the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to assist on scene.
Crews from Engine 21 quickly knocked down the fire, preventing extension to either residence. Firefighters rescued two dogs, both unharmed. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
